Doug Jones, CFP®

Sr. / Lead Investment Analyst

Joining the team in 2015, Doug is a Certified Financial Planner™ who loves nothing more than analyzing an investment portfolio, strategy or model.

Prior to joining the Precision Wealth Strategies team, Doug spent several years as an independent financial planner providing financial planning and investment management to individuals, families, and small business owners. Before entering the financial services industry Doug served as President of a family-owned communications company in the St. Louis market for over 10 years. This experience provided Doug with the opportunity to learn firsthand the challenges and opportunities involved in business ownership, such as cash flow planning, forecasting, and exit planning. In addition to being a Certified Financial Planner™, Doug has passed the FINRA Series 7 securities exam and currently retains his Series 66.

When not in the office, Doug can be found spending time with his family, volunteering in his local church and occasionally around the world. When relaxing at home with his family he often smokes meat on the back deck or finds himself taking on woodworking projects around the house.

What is your favorite thing about being a Certified Financial Planner™?

Analyzing data in a way that makes decisions clear.

Do you have a favorite memory from your time with Precision Wealth Strategies?
During the seasons when the market is moving heavily in one direction or another, these are the times when analysis becomes action and proves its worth. For example, during the Covid market collapse, Darin put into practice the Warren Buffet quote, “Be fearful when others are greedy and greedy when others are fearful”. He put out a call to action and many clients brought funds from the sidelines in one of the lowest moments of the 2020 market decline. By the end of the year returns on these inflows were truly historic. This was a product of understanding history, putting analysis into action, and exercising discipline in the face of fear.
